2014: My year...

I am a firm believer that it is always a great idea to take the time to reflect upon your year, to see both the high and low points. I have got to say that generally my year has been full of happy and celebratory moments, but it has not been without its stressful and tearful moments either. Graduating from University has definitely been on of the most significant points of my year, and covers both the high and low aspects for sure.

Graduating from the University of Leeds with a 2:1 in Psychology. This year I graduated from university with a 2.1 which I am so proud of! At the time I was so stressed due to all the exams and deadlines, but now looking back I wouldn't change it for the world, in fact I wish I was still in Leeds living with my best friends and enjoying my freedom. Hopefully one day I will return to Leeds again as it really is a fantastic city and I miss it so very much. Also my friends and I have thankfully taken the time to stay in touch and visit one another, for example my friends are coming to stay with me for New Years and I can't wait! My advice for people currently living away from home or at university; enjoy it! It won't last forever!

My year with my boyfriend. I am so happy in my relationship with my boyfriend, of course we sometimes can fall out and fight but I wouldn't change our relationship ever. He is  so perfect and always extremely good to me, and truly makes me so happy. Hopefully sometime next year or soon we will be able to move into our own little home together or go travelling. Heres to many more happy years!

I started a PGCE. This September I started a PGCE, and so far this is proved to be a big challenge! Nobody realises just how much hard work a PGCE is or teaching either! Hopefully in the end it will be worth it and I will be glad I made this decision. In the end at least it will be another goal I will have accomplished and something else to be proud of.

Many Happy memories. This year has been filled with many happy memories that I will always remember, I have met some wonderful people but have also lost contact with some not so wonderful people... I have developed closer relationships with some amazing people too. I have had many lovely moments and days, including several amazing holidays with the ones that I love. This year I am slowly getting better at forgetting the negatives and trying to focus on the positive aspects of my life. I am also learning to stress a little less, which is definitely a big issue for me. Hopefully I will continue to progress and develop into a more happy-go-lucky kind of person.

I will dazzle, I will outshine them all.

Sat 22nd Feb 2014

Sorry I've been rubbish with posting! I have had a busy start to the year, I'm in my last year at university so obviously i had lots of exams to stress and worry about, then the new semester started and such so.

But I thought I would type a quick blog whilst I have some spare time tonight, and whilst I have actually done something with my day!

Today I had such a lovely day.

First of all, my boyfriend and I made blueberry pancakes this morning, which were gorgeous and just so nice to have for a change. I know its pancake day soon but it was nice to have them anyways. I saw something online about them when I woke up and that made me really crave them.

My boyfriend and I planned on going on the Tolkien Trail with my cocker spaniel in Preston, so we drove all the way to near Clitheroe from my house taking about 40 minutes and then parked up in a small little village.  However we could not find any of the paths or any signs or ways the go when we got there, so instead we just ended up driving to the Sandyhurst college and then wandered round their grounds and fields.

The buildings of Sandyhurst College were amazing; they were just big old-fashioned grand buildings. There was also an antique fair on so we thought we would have a quick nosey in, but it was £5 in so of course we didn’t pay that! Haha. So we walked round all the woods, nearly falling over several times in the fallen trees, and we all got stuck in lots of bogs and mud baths. Pennie also almost gave a pheasant a heart attack as she charged through the bushes and trees. Don’t think many people walked through the woods as there were no paths or walk-throughs so definitely don’t think that pheasant was expecting us! But it was actually really nice to just see Pennie really enjoying herself, she much prefers chasing after rabbits and rummaging through the bushes instead of being surrounded by other dogs and people on busy fields or parks. Don’t think I would drive all that way out again but it was a lovely day and so great to just spend time with my boyfriend and dog.

We nipped into a place where our friend works on our way back home, which was lovely just to go say a quick hello to her and to see where she works. And of course we bought some cheeses from their food hall ha. When we got home we had to bath pennie before doing anything else as she was covered in mud and twigs as per usual.

Tonight has been nice and relaxed, we watched Before Sunset which is a cute romantic indie film about a couple of people, and we ate lots of homemade curry and sat cuddled up with my cocker spaniel, we definitely succeeded in tiring out the dog!

I'm feeling pretty lousy at the moment as my sinuses are playing up again this weekend so think ill just have an early night. Struggling to breathe so don't think my sleep will be that great tonight sadly.

I'll try keep posting more when i do exciting things with my days.

New Year Resolutions!

Happy New Year!

I'm not really one for making new year resolutions, as I never seem to stick with them… plus I always forget them, but i suppose writing some down on here is a good start.

However, the one at the top of my list is definitely finishing university with a good grade and then moving back to Preston to get a decent job in the north west. I'm not sure exactly what i am going to get a job in, i just know i want to start saving money to travel, to get my own car, and also to possibly save money to move into a place with mark some time in the future.

This year has been great, but has definitely had its ups and downs, and with uni particularly stressing me out too much. I was going to go onto further education but i think i am done with formal education for a while, but i may return to university after a year or so out. Another worry of mine is losing contact with my housemates, so this next year i will have to make sure i still ring/Skype/meet up with Claire and Naomi as much as possible.

The highlight of my year definitely has to be my wonderful boyfriend, who really does treat me like a princess (most the time ha) and also puts up with my crap and all my worrying. So hopefully this year we will continue to be together in our amazing relationship and then maybe one day in the future we will move into our own place together, but if it happens in 2014 I'd be surprised. Maybe that's one for 2015! :)

So here's a few resolutions:

- finish uni with a good grade (and as little stress as possible)
- buy my own car
- get a good job to save lots of money
- travel to lots of different places
- read all my books (which i said would have to wait till after university)
- join a gym/exercise more and also learn to treat my body better, also learn some lovely veggie recipes!
- learn to stress less and to stop worrying about little insignificant things
- Keep in contact/visit Claire and Naomi once I've finish university.

Some of my favourite photos and memories of my year…
